Planning a Co-Ed Boy Baby Shower
Who doesn’t love celebrating a baby on the way?! I co-hosted a baby shower for my friend Sydney and wanted to share some great planning ideas with you! I’ve linked some products I used below, and keep reading to hear more about the event.

The Details
The shower was a lunch event from Noon - 3 pm. We threw the shower at my in-laws’ beautiful home on the lake! The breezy setting was perfect for the afternoon, with lots of space to mingle. Having a co-ed shower was important for Sydney, so since we had a bigger guest list, we opted to not do any of the traditional shower games.
The entry
For a statement entryway, we blew up a balloon arch and draped it across the door frame. I always like buying 3 individual colors with assorted sizes off of Amazon and creating your own garland instead of buying pre-made packs because you end up with more balloons for a fuller look at a cheaper price point. For this arch, we used dark blue, dusty blue, and white balloons.
I designed a custom 24” x 36” welcome sign using Canva and had it printed at Fed Ex on foam board, which is easy for same or next day printing. The foam board sits nicely on this Amazon collapsable easel.
We layered two tables (an outdoor bistro table with a Target gingham tablecloth and Target wood side table), with a flower arrangement from the local farmer’s market.
While the party was going, I brought out custom cookies to set on the table as a parting gift that guests could grab on their way out.
The food & Drinks
We had a veggie platter out as a started, and ordered brisket and pulled pork from a local BBQ joint for lunch. A few of the friends helping us plan the party brought cornbread, cole slaw, and other great sides from D Squared catering. We also prepared a few green salads.
For drinks, we had red and white wine, a keg of Fremont Brewing for the boys. My favorite were moscow mules made with Rachel’s Ginger Beer in cute assorted copper mugs garnished with lime and mint sprigs. The ginger beer doubles as a great virgin drink for the pregnant ladies in attendance. I got these cute pegboard signs from Target to use as the menu signs.
Last but not least, for dessert, our friend Ty made three homemade ice cream flavors that he put into individual serving cups. I designed labels also using Canva in the same style as the welcome sign, that we printed using Sticker Mule.
Overall it was an amazing event! I hope these tips are helpful as you plan an upcoming shower, and would love to hear if you use any of them if you want to leave me a comment below!
