Travel With Me: London Part II
Continuing from Part I of my London Travel Diary (read the first post here!), here are some of my favorite photos from the second part of our trip to London! There's a ton here, so enjoy and I hope you find something that inspires you for your next trip!
Wednesday April 25
Wednesday was a big London day for us! I started out walking around our neighborhood to visit the beautiful floral archways at the Dominique Amsel Bakery and Peggy Porschen Cakes.
We then headed to Central London where we got out of the tube at Parliament and walked to the London Eye to get some amazing views of the city. It was the most touristy thing we did, but it's worth the views if you haven't seen London from above before!
Then we walked to the Borough Market where we picked up some of my favorite Guyere cheese then headed to Notting Hill to walk through the Portobello Market. We didn't have a chance to stop, but Farm Girl Cafe is suppose to be amazing if you're in that area!
I had a fabulous risotto for dinner at The Enterprise that was in our neighborhood.
Thursday April 26
This was by far a highlight of our trip! On Thursday, we took the tube to Kew Gardens where we walked around for hours. There was such a variety of plants and "exhibits" with everything from a Japanese Garden to a Palm House! I was glad we went on a nice day, since it's mainly outdoors - so plan accordingly!
Following the gardens, we walked around Richmond that had a quaint waterfront town filled with people and shops. We had dinner at The Ivy Richmond where I had the most amazing Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. I immediately looked up the recipe and will be trying to make it at home!
Friday April 27
Friday was a quieter day for us. Brian and I started off with smoothies and avo toast at The Good Life Eatery, followed by shopping around Sloane Square.
We then met up with Brian's extended family for a fun, laughter-filled dinner at The White Hart in Barnes.
Saturday April 28
In another family-centric day, we picked up pastries from Harrods and headed to Brian's cousins' to watch a football match!
Sunday April 29
For our last full day in Central London, we started off with a traditional English Breakfast at The Wolseley then walked to Buckingham Palace where we stumbled onto the Changing of the Guards. It was fun to see, but was packed on a busy Sunday, where we fought the crowds.
Brian and I then went to the Design Museum that has free admission for the main exhibition. It was a quick, but fun museum. It's right by High Street Kensington that also has great shopping.
Monday April 30
Before flying to Marrakech, we packed up from where we were staying in South Kensington and headed to stay with Brian's cousins. We enjoyed lunch at GAIL's Bakery and then headed to Gatwick to catch our evening flight!
My next post will be all about our trip to Morocco, so stay tuned to hear about camel riding, the Souks and some amazing eats!
