Brunch time!

I've been wanting to try Saint Helens Cafe in Ravenna for a while, so off we went! It's on Montlake just East of University Village. When you walk in, there's this adorable seating area that's pictured above. Upstairs is the restaurant, which is pretty tight quarters, but beautifully designed!

Brian and I sat down, I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and Brian ordered a beer. Hey - it's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Everything on the menu looked amazing, and we kept scoping out the other tables to see what looked the best. Someone had their Classic Breakfast ($12) eggs your way, smashed potatoes, house cured bacon, grilled bread and another person had their special, Salmon Cake Benedict ($18) and that caught my attention! I only ever order benedicts when I'm out, since I would never think to make them at home. They're definitely a treat!

Brian ordered their Salmon Tartine ($12) salmon lox, creme fraiche, pickled shallots, frisee which he devoured. I'm not a smoked salmon fan, but he loves it! Both of our meals were really good, and there was a great outdoor area that we agreed we'd come back to in the summer.

Just when we had finished eating, the power went out! It turns out a large part of Seattle lost power, not just the restaurant, but it was a funny way to end the brunch! Outfit details are below...
